Comments:
Lulu was given to a family by her original owner after she had been bred multiple times and was of no further use to him. He persuaded the family to take her, despite her obvious need for medical care, by threatening to shoot her if they didn't adopt her. Her life prior to coming into rescue was a sad one.
The family then took her to a vet and quickly realized her needs were far beyond what they could afford and called rescue. After surgery to remove 8 infected teeth, multiple mammary tumors, and to be spayed, Lulu is a "new woman." She will always require daily drops for dry eye and may benefit from ongoing anti-inflammatory medication for her arthritis in her front shoulder. She is a delightful dog, very sweet with people including children, and she is hopeful someone will give her a home to live out her years in peace and comfort.
She walks slowly and is in no hurry to get anywhere. Because of her arthritis, she should not be placed where she must deal with a full flight of stairs. Please have an application onfile prior to requesting any additional information on Lulu. Update: After a couple of weeks in rescue Lulu is becoming quite the character. She is feeling so much better and her "silly side" is emerging. Her foster family describes her as a "great dog." She is eagerly awaiting her new home. Seniors are amazingly wonderful companions. They ask for so little and give so much in return. Lulu is making an amazing recovery and looks forward to many more years of companionship with some lucky family. She has been waiting many weeks now for her new family to come. Could that be you?? If so, she says get a move on.
