Comments:
Tootsie was rescues from the shelter and has some vision issues that limit her vision at long distances, she sees close clearly. She is in eye drops and seems to get along with some dogs and not along with others all the time. It would do best for her to meet dogs in person to see if a good match.

Tootsie is a little head strong girl. She loves walks and does well walking alone or with multiple dogs. She has a lot of energy in the morning so we find a morning walk every day really helps her.

She does well with other dogs but is very needy for affection, so wants to dominate the time and space of humans, when she has it. We would probably recommend she be the only dog, or possibly with 1 other dog that is SUPER tolerant of sharing their human.

She probably would do best with an owner that works from home or is retired with a lot of time to spend with her that also knows bulldogs and their behaviors. For example, she will jump up often when humans are seated and needs a lot of redirection regarding rules.

She can be crated at night to sleep and sleeps through the night, but does not like to be put in a crate during the day, and will bark constantly.

She loves to be outside. An owner that allows her to be outside in a “ dog safe space” would be beneficial. We use our gated side yard that has couches, a rug and an area for her to use the bathroom.

She loves to chomp on a strong/ sturdy toys and is content being by herself while playing and chomping. She is extremely mouthy when playtime comes around.

Older kids are OK to be around her who understand her limited sight issues. But probably no kids younger than 10, in our opinion.

She does not like to be pushed/backed into a crate, or corrected on certain behaviors such as where to use the bathroom. So an owner who lets their dog go to the bathroom anywhere in the yard, and who has the yard space to allow her to be outside is probably the best, as she typically does not like to be confined during the daytime.

She is not on any special diets.

She has not meet any cats yet and unknown with cats.

She has not met any children and known with children, but very sweet overall Has shown no signs of aggression, however, can use training and adult supervision
